Amazing Vegan Restaurants

NYC has the most vegan restaurants in the world.

I will update this with my favorites as I attempt to try them all. 


Double Zero

On Second Avenue & 4th Street, Double Zero is tremendous - a plant-based, high level pizza spot. I recommend:

CREAMY ARTICHOKE Pizza: GARLIC CASHEW CHEESE. SPINACH. TOMATO BASIL CRUDO.

ANTIPASTO SALAD: MIXED GREENS. ARTICHOKES. TOMATOES. OLIVES. SHIITAKE BACON. ROASTED RED PEPPERS. MACADAMIA RICOTTA. RED WINE VINAIGRETTE.

TIRAMISU.

CHOCOLATE CAKE.ESPRESSO MOUSSE. VANILLA ICE CREAM.


Modern Love

In Williamsburg, fun spot with stellar food. 

For dinner, I really enjoyed:

Modern Cheese Plate: truffled chevre, dill havarti, smoked cheddar, crackers, garlic crostini, grapes, arugula, microgreens 

Truffled Poutine: fried potatoes, porcini gravy, truffled almond ricotta, chives

Cherry Pie: vanilla ice cream, coconut whip

A divine, fast-food style chain. You can't lose. Everything is amazing. Quick & innovative, here are some favorites: 

MAC N’ CHEESE SWEET POTATO-CASHEW CHEESE SAUCE, SHIITAKE BACON, ALMOND PARM

THE GUAC BURGER -  BLACK BEAN-QUINOA-SWEET POTATO PATTY, CORN SALSA, ONION, GUAC, TORTILLA STRIPS, CHIPOTLE AIOLI, WHOLE GRAIN BUN

THE SUNRISE SCRAMBLED TOFU, SPICY SEITAN CHORIZO, BLACK BEAN SALSA, AVOCADO, TOFU CRÈMA, WHOLE WHEAT TORTILLA


Dirt Candy

Chic spot on the Lower East Side that is vegetarian. By request, everything on the menu can be made vegan. I went for brunch & fell for:

KOREAN FRIED BROCCOLI: basically it's crack in broccoli form

BRUSSELS SPROUT TACOS: brussels sprouts on a sizzling stone with lettuce wrappers and accompaniments

SQUASH BISCUITS: with pumpkin butter & yellow pepper jam. THE BEST TASTE!!!


Delice & Sarassin

Innovative, friendly & supremely good. On a beautiful street in the Village, I went for brunch & loved: 

STEAK FRITES INFUSÉES À LA TRUFFE BLANCHE ET MOUTARDE DE DIJON - Vegan beef steak (3 types of mushrooms) served with French fries infused in white truffle and Dijon mustard.

Vegan Foie Gras!

SALADE FROMAGERE Romaine Lettuce, tomatoes, Gruyere cheese, blue cheese, Parmesan cheese (coconut based), garlic olive oil balsamic. 

ST RAPHAEL - Potatoes, Red & Green peppers, Vegan Spanish Chorizo (soy and paprika), Balsamic sauce & Vegan Emmental Cheese (cashew based).
